Accountability in the Social Economy: The Case of Private Social Solidarity Institutions

Given the extreme importance of improving accountability private social solidarity institutions (IPSS), both for reasons legal compliance and legitimacy notoriety among their stakeholders, in order to be accountable them maintain sustainability, this article aims present a framework designed under more comprehensive research project assessment IPSS accountability, as well preliminary results pilot test Portuguese IPSS. The was developed from combination methodologies that included literature review, field work focus group, resulting six dimensions with 76 indicators. For test, data were collected by questionnaire years 2018, 2019 2020. despite limited number entities, allowed identification some trends indicators where entities show lower they will have improve accountability. Some possible effects COVID-19 pandemic also identified. Therefore, we believe answers question: how can promote (social, financial economic) economy sector, particular case IPSS?
